Introduction.

Time and Fate is an example of branching literature or interactive fiction, and follows the well-established format of the adventure gamebooks which became immensely popular in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s. We hope to evoke the halcyon days of The Cave of Time or The Warlock of Firetop Mountain in our publications, with every release being a complete adventure gamebook in the form of a paperback novel.

Playing the game is simple; read the story introduction at Reference 001 and follow the instructions from there. Throughout the game you will be regularly offered choices of what you should do next, with each option instructing you to turn to a specific reference as you make your way along one of the many diverging and converging paths the story can take. Each decision made will have outcomes and consequences which can lead to either your success or failure.
